About Us
The Matador has been proudly serving Red Raiders since 2012, but our story started long before our doors opened.
What started as a small Texas Tech t-shirt business in the early 1990s grew into years of experience designing, creating, and selling Texas Tech apparel. In 2012, we opened The Matador to give Red Raider fans another place to shop for officially licensed gear right across from campus.
Located at the corner of Broadway and University, we've become a stop for students, alumni, families, and fans before game day, graduation, move-in, and every Texas Tech milestone in between.
We chose the name The Matador to honor Texas Tech's original mascot and the traditions that have shaped generations of Red Raiders. Everything we do is rooted in our love for Texas Tech and the community that makes it special.
Today, we're proud to offer officially licensed apparel, gifts, and locally made products while providing friendly service and a shopping experience that feels personal. Whether it's your first visit to campus or your hundredth trip back to Lubbock, we're honored to be part of your Texas Tech tradition.
